Easy Kitchen Island Lighting Update

Slowly but surely, this house is starting to feel like ours.  Last weekend we finished the dining area lighting update.  With the old builder grade chandelier gone, we felt the need to do a little update to the island lighting as well.

The original lights were fine, I’m not going to pretend that they were awful. (I’ve had awful. Our first house had a freaking circus kitchen when we moved in, complete with mosaic tile countertops. I’ll even include pictures for your amusement.)

Is everyone done laughing?? Okay, we’ll move on.

This little project was due to an impulsive buy at Lowes.  While I was looking for Edison style bulbs for our new chandelier, I happened to find these cute shade replacements!

Even though the price is probably reasonable, I’m a person who prides myself on being frugal, so these seemed like a splurge at $20 each.  I totally think they were worth it, though!  They just bring everything together and they feel like “us”.

See? Better, more fun! 🙂

The wire shades really tie the island lighting to the dining area light fixture.  And after completing the orb chandelier I needed something easy!  Sometimes its 100% worth paying for convenience, am I right?   Thanks for stopping by today, I really appreciate all the love and support!!
